Re-Engage: How America's Best Places to Work Inspire Extra Effort in Extraordinary Times. Their findings were incredible, mostly that employees want to work where the most work is being done. The key component: employee engagement. I have spoken on this before, but employees are at their most productive when they feel like their input matters, and they are allowed some flexibility when doing their jobs; in this case, how they provide service to their customers. I could not agree more. Employers can micro-manage all they want, the results will never be as good if you let your employees do what they feel is best. Million dollar studies that show people respond better to this word or the other are great, but nothing can take the place of people to people skills.
